The Wisdom of Embodied Values

An 8-Week Live Online Training with Dylan Newcomb

What if you could develop the embodied intelligence to notice when you're caught in a values clash—within yourself or with others—and learn to transform that friction into flow, deeper understanding, and constructive engagement?

November 25 - January 27, 2026 | Tuesdays 1-3pm ET/USA
(4 sessions in Nov/Dec holiday break, 4 sessions in January)

Rising Together to Meet This Moment

We're living through stormy times of accelerating complexity and polarization. The accelerating pace of life and multiplying pressures of personal decisions, the fractures in our communities and relationships, the challenges to our social fabric and cohesion—all of this asks us to cultivate new capacities in ourselves.

We can all feel it, each in our own ways: the strain of trying to align how we spend our time, energy, and resources with what truly matters to us. Whether it's navigating daily priorities and work-life tensions, managing relationships across different worldviews, or figuring out how to engage responsibly in challenging times, we're exhausted from inner and outer conflicts we don't know how to resolve. These tensions reveal something crucial—we haven't been taught to work consciously with our values as they operate through us.

Of course, navigating challenging times requires many things: emotional regulation, stress management, community support, attending to our basic needs and health. But there's one key dimension we rarely address skillfully: how our unconscious values-patterning is shaping both our personal decisions and our relational dynamics—fueling the very tensions that limit our flow, effectiveness, and wellbeing.

Understanding Your Values Exhaustion—And the Path Forward

Our many daily decisions can trigger draining inner-conflicts about what matters most.
You know that feeling when different parts of you want completely different things—pushing to meet important goals versus honoring your need for rest, nurturing your autonomy versus investing in meaningful connections? These aren't just mental challenges, confusions, or doubts—they're often internal values-conflicts that result in decision fatigue, procrastination and a loss of easeful flow and generative momentum.

We all need to increase our capacity to navigate value differences in relationships.
The old ways of engaging differences—judging, trying to convince, shaming, or withdrawing—are failing us from our dinner tables to our public forums to our democracy itself. Our shared world needs people who can engage consciously with what matters rather than reactively defend positions, who can transform relational and cultural tensions into bridges of deeper understanding.

The wisdom of embodied values transforms tensions into regenerative engagement.
Most approaches focus on clarifying or aligning values, but the exhaustion comes from unconscious patterns operating through your nervous system. In this training, you'll cultivate and further develop your values as dynamic resources through body-based practices. This fosters a more responsive inner-compass for everything in your life—from major transitions to daily choices.
When we work with values as dynamic, embodied resources rather than fixed stances—and when we can feel what matters in our bodies rather than just debate it in our minds—genuine transformation becomes possible. This kind of inner work strengthens our capacity to stand clearly for what matters while staying open to genuine understanding, making us more effective in all our engagements.

An 8-Week Journey of Cultivating Values Wisdom

This 8-module journey unfolds through a thoughtfully crafted progression, building safety and capacity before exploring deeper patterns. Each week's module combines clear frameworks with rich reflections, discussions, and (most importantly) embodied practices that create lasting shifts in how you engage all levels of your life.

Week 1: Mapping Your Inner Values Landscape
Discovering How Values Currently Live through Your Bodymind

We'll explore and assess how the full spectrum of values dynamics currently show up in your life and manifest as patterns in your nervous system—giving you a practical embodied framework for recognizing what truly matters to you, beneath the mental negotiations and cultural conditioning.

Week 2: Expanding Your Values-Holding Capacity
Expanding Your Range to Appreciate a Full Spectrum of Values

Together, we'll develop your ability to access and hold the full spectrum of human values—from security to freedom, achievement to connection—without fragmenting or polarizing, cultivating the embodied flexibility that allows you to draw from different values as resources for different moments.

Week 3: Finding Your Center Amidst Complexity

Accessing the Wisdom of Grounded Equanimity, When Things Pull Apart

You'll strengthen your capacity to find and maintain center when different values create seemingly impossible tensions, learning to access the spacious neutral ground that can hold all your values without being controlled by any, transforming either/or values struggles into both/and wisdom.

Week 4: Rediscovering Security and Tradition as Deep Resources

Transforming Protective Rigidity into Aligned, Responsive Stability

We'll explore how values of safety, security, tradition, and continuity can shift from defensive armor that isolates into adaptive boundaries that both protect and connect. This helps you honor what needs preserving and maintain genuine stability without becoming stuck in patterns that no longer serve.

Week 5: Embracing Power and Achievement that’s Truly Generative

Channeling Capacity and Constructive Ambition into Sustainable Drive

Together we'll navigate the terrain of power, autonomy, achievement, and excellence—finding the sweet spot where your natural drive and desire for impact become regenerative fuel rather than forces that burn you out. Discover how to pursue what matters without sacrificing your wellbeing or relationships in the process.

Week 6: The Care and Harmony that Nourishes Everyone

Fostering Deeper Connections that Sustain Rather Than Drain You

You'll develop your capacity for truly regenerative care and authentic harmony—learning to maintain your own wellbeing while creating genuine connection with others. This helps transform exhausting patterns of over-giving or conflict avoidance into boundaries that actually deepen intimacy and create sustainable support for all involved.

Week 7: Purpose and Discovery as Living Guides

Following Inspiration and Possibility Without Losing Your Footing

We'll explore how your sense of purpose, meaning, stimulation, and discovery can guide you without being overwhelming. This allows these more expansive values to inspire innovation and direction while maintaining a grounded connection to practical reality. You'll learn to pursue what calls to you without losing touch with what grounds you.

Week 8: Living Your Full Ecology of Values as Integration in Action

Weaving Dynamic Wisdom Through Your Relationships and Choices

Everything comes together as you discover your living values compass—the embodied capacity to sense which values each moment calls for. You'll develop the fluid intelligence to better navigate your full ecology of values as dynamic resources: knowing when to draw on stability versus exploration, care versus achievement, harmony versus autonomy. From daily decisions to family dynamics to broader world engagement, you'll learn to transform everyday tensions into moments of aligned choice and regenerative response.

Your invitation to grow and transform in challenging times

Deepening your embodied knowing of what truly matters isn't just personal growth—it's developing the inner clarity and situational wisdom our strained world increasingly needs from us.

This training is for you if:

  • You're feeling tired of waging inner battles about how to fully honor what matters to you
  • You want to strengthen your embodied compass for life's many decisions, beyond decision fatigue
  • You seek to more deeply understand and empathize across differences, not simply to sharpen your persuasion skills
  • You're feeling a need for practices that will shift how you show up in relationships
  • You sense that deeper vulnerability, self-awareness, and values-alignment could transform your relational tensions

This training is NOT for you if:

  • You're mainly looking to strengthen and fortify your position against others
  • You want quick tension-releases rather than gradual embodied growth and development
  • You believe deep down there's one right set of values and civic priorities for everyone, in all situations
  • You're not ready to explore your own (and others') unconscious patterns with compassion
  • You're hoping to reinforce, rather than examine and further evolve, your current values-patterning

Your Guide: Dylan Newcomb

For over 20 years, I've been developing UZAZU Embodied Intelligence—a framework for working with patterns through the body rather than just the mind. I've trained over 500 helping professionals in the UZAZU methodology and taught thousands globally.

But more importantly for this work: I live these values tensions daily. My own family and circle of friends spans from progressive activists to traditional conservatives. Having spent 20 years living abroad in the Netherlands further exposed me to a wide range of cultural values and the many challenges of living together in diversity. And like many of you, I feel the weight of these times—the call, and challenge, to show up as a responsive member of my local communities and larger society, while maintaining my own wellbeing and direct relationships.
I developed this embodied values work and training not from a place of having it 'all solved' in my own life, but from my ongoing research and practice of finding valued-based flow where there used to be friction. In addition to guiding us through UZAZU's full-spectrum framework for understand and working with values in an embodied way, I'll also be forthcoming my own struggles, imbalances, and unresolved questions. We're all learning to meet each moment with more grace—my role is simply to share the embodied framework and practices that have made the biggest difference so far, and for us to explore its potential together.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from other values work?

Traditional values work focuses on clarification (knowing your values) or commitment (living your values). We focus on deep learning of your current values patterning and self-awareness, plus developing the embodied capacity for dynamic values navigation—flowing between values based on what each moment and level needs. It's the difference between having a map and knowing how to actually navigate within the actual territory.

Do I need previous UZAZU experience to benefit from this training?

No, this training is designed to be fully accessible to newcomers while also offering significant additional depth for experienced UZAZU practitioners. If you're not yet familiar with the embodiment methods of UZAZU Embodied Intelligence, Dylan will be offering a complimentary additional 2-hour Quick Start/Refresher session between Weeks 2 and 3 (also available via replay if you can't make it—exact date and time TBD).

What if I can't attend all sessions live?

All sessions are recorded with 2-year access to replays and materials in our online members area, with PDF handouts posted as well to support each week’s content. Many participants find that rewatching recordings helps them integrate the learnings and practices more deeply. The online course area also allows for further discussion and comments between sessions, keeping you connected even when attending asynchronously.

How much time commitment is involved?

Beyond the weekly 2-hour sessions: 10-15 minutes daily for personal practice is (optionally) recommended, plus leaning into real-time application with the more difficult situations you're already navigating. If you choose to join an optional weekly practice and discussion pod, that would be another 90 minutes per week. We’ll support participants to self-organize into pods and find times that work best for them. Most participants report saving time overall because they stop ruminating and resolve tensions faster.

Will this help me navigate our current political and social climate?

While this work is first and foremost focused on your individual values patterning and growth in your own life and immediate relationships, it's also especially relevant for how we navigate and relate to our societal and political conflicts. You'll develop the capacity to hold more clear and authentically aligned convictions while ALSO building better bridges, engaging compassionately across difference without compromising your integrity, and transforming exhausting conflicts into more generative dialogue.

What if I miss the optional Thursday practice sessions?

The Thursday practice sessions deepen your embodied experience of each module's content, but they're intentionally designed as optional-yet-highly-reccommended components. If you can't attend live, the recordings allow you to engage with these practices when it works for you. We also provide written practice guides that support self-directed exploration, helping you integrate the key elements even if you can't join every session.
