A Word From Your Friendly, Non-Local UZAZU Trainers:

In our current world of information over-abundance, it's indeed tempting to keep hoping that if we eventually stumble on just the right insights or ‘clever hacks’ we could then (almost magically!) unlock those life-changes we most desire. However, as you may have discovered through your own experiences, truly transforming our more limiting patterns requires a level of repeated authentic engagement and embodiment that goes beyond mental clarity & understanding alone.

Even when it come to embodiment-training, as we have seen in our own lives, and with so many UZAZU students and practitioners — those who make the time to consistently practice and explore how UZAZU can genuinely affect them, and then integrate those more balanced states into their daily life tend to experience far deeper transformations than those who just learn the basics and have a few peak state experiences from it.

That's why we're excited to announce the launch of the UZAZU Embodiment Practice Group - a supportive space to dive deep into UZAZU principles and practices, and nurture profound shifts in your energy flow and in how you relate to yourself, others, and life's challenges.

Regular UZAZU practice offers a powerful way to re-pattern how you show up and respond, whether you're seeking deeper self-connection, enhanced emotional resilience, more skillful and well-balanced engagement with others, or greater embodiment of your own core values and deeper purpose.

Join our weekly live classes, engage with a like-minded community, and experience the power of UZAZU to help you embody more of your fullest potential for ease, flow, and meaningful connection!

We can't wait to practice with you.

Warmly,  Dylan & Deb

"Practicing UZAZU has changed how I energetically interact with everything around me. I have more drive and more passion! And I feel how I can be more authentic now. The most beneficial aspect of working with UZAZU, however, was how my personal relationships have shifted!"

A Journey of Cultivating Coherence, Balance, and Synergy

At the heart of the UZAZU Embodied Intelligence method lies a transformational cycle of cultivating deeper mind-body awareness and coherence, re-patterning our more reactive, imbalancing tendencies, and then cultivating & integrating more balanced, resourceful states into our daily life situations.
This approach, grounded in over two decades of research and development, weaves together principles from diverse fields such as Mindfulness, Polyvagal Theory, Attachment Theory, and Interpersonal Neurobiology.

1. Cultivate Coherence

by deepening your embodied self-awareness

We start by deepening our embodied self-awareness and increasing our capacity to compassionately hold space for all that arises in our bodymind.

By attuning to our body's sensations, needs, and wisdom, and combining that with our mind’s imagination, curiosity and perspective-taking, we cultivate a deeper mind-body coherence.

UZAZU’s integrated system of simple postures, movements, images and statements help you cultivate a more bi-directional flow of information and awareness in your body-mind system.

2. Restore Balance

by re-patterning your limiting, reactive habits

With this deepened self-awareness, we can more easily identify the unconscious patterns and beliefs that are perpetually causing  imbalanced, dysregulated embodied states and limiting flow.

UZAZU's targeted practices and playful, relational exercises support you in re-patterning those reactive cycles and cultivating more balanced, empowering ways of responding and relating.

By increasingly noticing where you’re depleted, stuck, or over-activated and making subtle micro-adjustments, you dynamically restore balance to your system, developing the wisdom to navigate life's challenges with greater equanimity and skillfulness.

3. Foster Synergy

by integrating your balanced states into daily life

As we practice coordinating these well-balanced embodied states and integrating them into our daily life & relationships, we experience the power of organic, embodied synergy.

By applying these more well-regulated, deeply resourcing states into the contexts you wish to optimize, you then iteratively discover how to better synchronize and flow with the world around your, naturally uncovering fresh perspectives and better-aligned responses.

This process of embodied integration not only enhances your own personal effectiveness but also naturally contributes to the collective well-being of your communities & systems you're part of.

"One of the things I love about UZAZU is that it's an embodied system that touches on all the different aspects of our own psychology and how we're in relationship with other people. In a way, it’s also very iterative. UZAZU can bring really deep, profound quick shifts... But a lot of it, in my experience, is that we're constantly making these little tweaks — and those little tweaks can actually add up very quickly."

What People Who've Practiced UZAZU Are Saying:

"With UZAZU, I really learned to come into the present moment and speak my truth in a way that... Yeah, I don't even really know how to say it, but just to be able to come into the present moment and speak my truth. And that's been incredibly empowering. That's been a huge change for me."

Albert Viljoen 2

"UZAZU has transformed my personal life and my coaching practice in ways that I couldn't have imagined. Using UZAZU, I can now get to the roots of any issue much more quickly and then easily work with it in an embodied way, which has also made me much more effective in my work with clients."

Dr. Albert Viljoen

"UZAZU has helped me understand my wiring more clearly, the wiring of my nervous system... And UZAZU, as an embodied language, helps us make object of that and see the water that we're swimming in because we can start to make distinctions within our experience. UZAZU gives me a language to notice that imbalance and then to be able to work with it."

Khali young

"I got a new job recently, and this new power is being evoked all the time. I don't think this would have been possible without UZAZU, to step into a different level of expectations, really sharing my expertise with some highfalutin and high power clients, and I don't know that I would have had the confidence to do that before."

Frequently Asked Questions

"How difficult is it to learn and use UZAZU in my life? And how can I learn the basics, in order to participate in the Practice Group?"

UZAZU is designed to be accessible for all levels of experience. Our instructors, Dylan and Deb, are skilled at creating a welcoming environment that supports each participant's unique journey.
Many people find that they start to feel more grounded, energized, and attuned to their body's wisdom quite quickly as they engage with UZAZU’s practices. You'll naturally develop the embodiment skills needed to deepen your experience over time.
In addition to the live classes, you'll have access to foundational resources and a supportive community to guide your learning process.
If you're new to UZAZU Embodied Intelligence and want to join the Practice Group, learning the basics is a prerequisite to joining in the weekly classes. Fortunately, we currently offer a few options to help you learn the basics and get started:
1. Join an upcoming Live Online Basic Training: UZAZU founder Dylan Newcomb will be offering a 6-hour live online Basic Training in the coming weeks. This training will provide you with a solid foundation in the core UZAZU framework, including the 3 Bodymind Dimensions and 9 Modes & Postures. You'll learn everything you need to know to participate fully in the Practice Group. Keep an eye on our website for details and registration information.
2. Get  the Recorded Online Basic Training: If you're eager to get started and don't want to wait for the next live training, we also offer a recorded online version of the Basic Training. This 5-hour course covers the same essential material as the live training, allowing you to learn at your own pace. While it doesn't include the live interaction element, it will still provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to join the Practice Group. You can purchase this recorded training separately. Click here to learn more about this introductory UZAZU training.
3. Select a full Practice Group Package: Some of our Practice Group packages, such as the "Immersive Journey" and "Jumpstart Your Embodiment Practice," include the Basic Training as part of the bundle. If you choose one of these packages, you'll have access to either the live or recorded Basic Training, depending on the timing and your preference, along with your Practice Group membership — and you'll save money and help ensure you follow up and actually practice it, right after you learn it! :-)
Whichever option you choose, we're committed to ensuring that you have the foundational knowledge and support you need to engage fully with the UZAZU Practice Group and begin your embodied intelligence journey.

"I learned the basics of UZAZU a little while ago. Will I be able to keep up with this Practice Group?"

If you've already learned the basics of UZAZU but feel uncertain about your embodiment skills or haven't practiced in a while, don't worry – the UZAZU Practice Group is designed to support you wherever you are in your journey. Dylan and Deb are dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment that accommodates a wide range of skill levels and backgrounds.
If it’s been a while since learning or practicing UZAZU, you might feel less confident in your ability to sense and listen to your body, or may find it challenging to recall UZAZU’s various practices. You'll find the Practice Group offers a welcoming space to reconnect with the work and deepen your embodiment at your own pace.
Engaging with the practices and the community will help you develop greater confidence, skill, and attunement. The live classes offer ample opportunities to receive guidance and support from the instructors and to learn from your fellow participants. You'll also have access to foundational resources and past class recordings that you can use to refresh your understanding and practice between sessions.
Everyone's ‘embodiment journey’ is unique! Regardless of your starting point, you'll be met with compassion, encouragement, and guidance to help you grow and thrive.

"I'm experienced with other embodied approaches. What makes UZAZU also worth exploring?"

In our experience, UZAZU offers a uniquely ‘full-spectrum’ integrative approach that can complement and enhance your existing skills while providing new avenues for growth. The UZAZU community has many members (with both a personal and professional focus) who deeply appreciate how UZAZU helps them ‘fill in key gaps’ in their existing array of embodiment knowledge and skills, while also helping them more intuitively ‘connect all the dots’ and make better use of what they already know.
What sets UZAZU apart from other practices is its holistic framework of 9 'Modes of Embodied Engagement,' which represent distinct patterns of feeling, thought, and action across different life contexts. This framework allows you to develop a nuanced understanding of your embodied tendencies and how they shape your interactions with the world.
While focus on maintaining balance in interpersonal interactions and real-world situations is often lacking in other practices, it is a crucial aspect of fostering lasting, pragmatically-focused ‘quality of life’ improvements.UZAZU emphasizes the dynamic interplay between body, mind, emotions, and environment, as well as the importance of relational embodiment. Additionally, UZAZU helps you cultivate the flexibility and responsiveness needed to consciously shift between states, allowing you to respond to life's demands with greater versatility and adaptability.
If you're well-versed in other embodied approaches, we invite you to bring your expertise to the UZAZU Practice Group. Your insights will  enrich the collective learning experience for all. And we believe you'll find UZAZU to be a powerful complement to your existing practice, offering new lenses, tools, and frameworks to deepen your understanding and expand your growth.

I'm currently working with a therapist. Could practicing UZAZU be complementary or should I wait?"

In many cases, UZAZU practice can be a valuable complement to ongoing therapy, but it's important to consult with your therapist to determine the best approach for your individual needs.
While there is some overlap between the personal growth work we do in this practice group and certain aspects of coaching and therapy, it's important to understand that UZAZU is not a substitute for professional therapeutic treatment. However, UZAZU can often be integrated effectively with various trauma-focused and healing modalities.
The focus of this practice group is on learning to apply UZAZU principles for personal well-being and growth in daily life. Many participants find that this supports and enhances their progress in other areas of self-work.
If you have any doubts or concerns about whether participating in this group would be beneficial alongside your current therapeutic process, we encourage you to discuss it with your therapist. You're also welcome to reach out to us directly with any questions.

What if I can't make it to one or more of the live sessions, or want further engagement?

We recognize that life can be busy and complex, and not everyone will be able to attend every live session. To support your consistent engagement, we've designed the Practice Group with flexible participation options.
Each live class is recorded and made available for replay within 24 hours. As long as you remain a subscribed member, you'll have ongoing access to this growing library of session recordings, allowing you to catch up or revisit material whenever needed.
Our private online community is another valuable resource, providing a space to connect with other participants, ask questions, and share experiences between live sessions. You'll also have the opportunity to coordinate with fellow members for additional practice meetups.
Ultimately, what matters most is your personal dedication to the embodiment journey. Whether you engage with the material during live sessions or on your own time, you'll find a wealth of support and resources within the UZAZU Practice Group container.

"I'm concerned about the time commitment. How much time should I plan on investing each week?"

Everyone's schedules and energy levels can vary from week to week, and it's important to find a balance that works for you. In general, we recommend setting aside around 2 hours in total per week to fully engage with the UZAZU Practice Group. This includes attending the 80-minute live class (or watching the replay) and dedicating some additional time for personal practice and reflection.
However,  one of the good things about UZAZU is that it can be easily adapted to fit your unique needs and circumstances. We encourage you to listen to your own rhythm and find a level of engagement that feels most sustainable and nourishing for you.
Fortunately, most UZAZU practices can be broken down into shorter, 5-10 minute sessions that you can integrate throughout your day. As you progress in the Practice Group, you’ll receive ongoing tips and techniques for weaving embodiment into your daily life in a way that feels organic and supportive. This might include using UZAZU to rest and recharge your energy, or to optimize or ‘prime’ your state before diving into your next activity or meeting.
Over time, you may well find that UZAZU becomes more & more implicitly present in your life, a natural part of your daily flow, without feeling like an extra burden or obligation.

"UZAZU is like an elegant tool that allows me to gain a fuller felt sense of what feels uncomfortable AND comfortable throughout my body in a safe way. That allows me to better relate to my personal judgments and situations and become actually curious about something that would otherwise overwhelm me. The model is so digestible and effective at helping me then choose other responses to my unconscious patterns. Highly recommend."
