Yours in embodied transformation,
Dylan Newcomb

&

Deb Grant

You’re an ideal candidate for this training if:

  • As a coach, therapist, or social worker, you're looking to bring more embodied, transformational interventions into your work with clients in a way that integrates with your current methods...
  • OR, you're already trained in 1 or more somatic methods, but want to take your embodied change-facilitation skills to the next level by understanding and transforming your client's challenges at a deep neurobiological level across a wider range of life challenges & contexts.
  • You already have experience working with private clients and have completed (or can complete, before Sept. 13th) the 3-Day UZAZU Foundations of Embodied Intelligence Professional Training.
  • You’ve already taken the UZAZU Foundations Professional Training—either live online, in person, or via the pre-recorded online version (this is about 18-20 hours of training, depending on the version.) This introductory training is the foundation this certification training builds (much) further on.
  • You value being part of an interactive, supportive cohort and are passionate about your own personal development.

Why join this 9-Month Embodiment Journey?

Learning and mastering deeply integrative ways of facilitating change that engages the whole body-mind is a process. And this longer-format training is designed (and has proven itself, over the past years) to give experienced 1-1 facilitators the training, ongoing structure, and continual support & feedback necessary to accomplish exactly this.

Over the course of these 9-Months, you will:

  • Gain the skills and knowledge you need to use the body more effectively in your coaching or therapy practice, across a full-range of client issues and growth-edges.
  • Be a part of a supportive, aligned community of embodiment-focused practitioners—working closely together in community, over a sustained period. Take advantage of the training's different constellations, learning interactions, and feedback loops to catalyze your growth over these 9 months.
  • Get to identify, uncover, and gently re-pattern your own blind spots, shadow material, and limiting patterns, using a clear framework & process for identifying what to work on, how to work on it, and the support and collaboration to do this deeper self-work.
  • Revitalize your love for client work — by greatly reducing the energetic-emotional drain, stress, and compassion-fatigue that being less fully 'in-the-flow' with a client often causes—and feel more energized, skillful, confident, and inspired in your 1-1 sessions.
  • Using UZAZU Embodied intelligence as an overarching framework, you'll have a clearer, more integrative way to organize the abundance of various modalities and embodiment information & techniques that may already have been a part of your skill set prior to the training, and leave feeling both 'practically empowered' and creatively inspired to keep growing and evolving as a facilitator of embodied change.

What Coaches & Therapists are Saying about UZAZU Embodied Intelligence

Alex Iglecia

Learning and personal growth that otherwise can take months...

In less than one hour, UZAZU gives my clients the learning and personal growth that otherwise can take months. ….they come out the other side with radical awareness and alignment. It’s a fantastic way to help them gain insight and move through personal challenges.

Marina Bondarenko

It gave me a valuable set of new tools, right from the beginning!

I’ve been working as a psychotherapist, coach, and business-trainer for 25 years. My knowledge of UZAZU now provides me a powerful foundation that allows me to connect and strengthen the efficiency of all the other methods I use (which includes Constellations, Gestalt Therapy, working with Metaphoric Cards, Body-mind work, etc.) UZAZU is simple and yet very deep and wide at the same time. It allows fast and accurate diagnostics and it supports me to work with different layers and levels (the body-level, belief systems, relationship dynamics, business, etc.) It gave me a valuable set of new tools right from the beginning, while further immersion in this method seems to open up endless fields of new opportunities—including for my own self-growth! I highly recommend UZAZU as a very effective, well-formed system for all kinds of helping professionals.

a robust model to help myself and my clients with complex challenges

The UZAZU practitioner certification training is one of the most comprehensive, structured embodiment training courses I have found to date. You can start using the system in its simplest form from day one, and yet, the complexity keeps evolving, allowing for a robust model to help myself and my clients with complex challenges.

Natasha Salvo

I’m just not triggered by “stuff” the way I used to be...

I’ve waited my whole life to find UZAZU…and for it to find me. It’s the first modality I’ve found that directly integrates simple, intuitive body-based practices with cognitive processing and mindfulness/awareness practice to shift and transform energy and thought patterns that have remained deeply lodged in my system, despite my best efforts and intentions to move through them. My deep-seated sense of trauma-based “urgency” has all-but evaporated. I’m just not triggered by “stuff” the way I used to be, and when I am, I have a way of working with it that’s immediate and effective. And I feel more engaged with my purpose than ever before. UZAZU is “the whole enchilada.”

blown away by the richness & depth of the approach and the practices

I chose to do this certification program to deepen my somatic intelligence skills to complement my Ontological Coaching. I am absolutely blown away by the richness and depth of the approach and the practices that go with it. I see many ways to use this in my practice. To boot, Dylan is a masterful teacher and facilitator, making the program even richer.

Three Phases of the Certification Training

This 9-month in-depth training is structured in 3 Main Phases,
with 5-Day Live Online Intensives at the end of both Phases 1 & 2

1

PHASE 1:

Activating Embodied Intelligence

Learn to experience, evaluate, and strengthen balance across UZAZU's 9 Core Modes of Engagement. Discover how one's embodiment of each of the Modes can positively and/or negatively affect the 8 Life Areas of your own and other people's lives.

12 Two-Hour Sessions, Wednesdays: Sep. 13 - Nov. 29. Click for Details...

WHERE: Live Online Zoom Sessions, Some Videos & At Home Practice

WHEN: Sep. 13 - Wed. Nov. 29. Each Wednesday, 1:00pm EST - 3:00pm EST (USA, NYC time) (Pods schedule amongst themselves)

WHAT: 12 Two-Hour Wednesday Sessions, Weekly 1-Hour Pod Meetings, Light Weekly Homework, 12 required 1-1 Sessions with practice clients & completing Reflection Forms on them

Phase 1 of this training is designed to support and empower you to personally deepen your self-awareness, embodiment, integration, and natural joy. A foundational aspect of mastering the UZAZU method of embodied change facilitation work is to ensure that you can deeply embody its principles, movements, and states yourself. This personal deep dive will not only bring direct benefits to your own life, but it will also prepare you to work with others from a new level of self-awareness and self-embodiment, with a deeper comfort and empathy for their various states, enhanced expert intuition, and more natural confidence.

In addition to personal development, Phase 1 also focuses on building your facilitation skills to work effectively with others in an embodied way. This includes learning and practicing the 4 Core Elements of UZAZU Facilitation: deepening your skills using all the basic UZAZU practices and guided change processes, learning how to skillfully and impactfully flow between words/dialogue and movement in your sessions, working with and experiencing a full spectrum of embodied states, exploring the connections between embodiment and various areas of life, and understanding how someone's embodied states can be supporting or challenging them.

To further develop your skills, you'll get to practice what you're learning by doing 8 practice sessions with fellow pod-mates and 4 practice sessions with friends and colleagues. You'll also deepen your understanding and skill in using the 5-step Change Facilitation Process in your sessions and begin using the 8 Verbal Response Modes to bring more awareness and intentionality to your facilitation interactions, both verbal and non-verbal. In addition, you'll learn how to read and interpret people's Embodied Intelligence State-Map results and have insight-generating conversations with them about their self-assessment results, which you can work with in the session to facilitate change and support your clients in achieving their goals.

Overall, Phase 1 of this training is focused on helping you become a skilled and effective facilitator of embodied change, both for your own personal growth and for your work with others.

5-Day Live Intensive One: Practicing the 4 Core Aspects of UZAZU Facilitation. Dec. 4 - Dec. 8

WHERE: Two Live Online Zoom Sessions Each Day
WHEN: Dec. 4-8, Mon-Fri. 17. Each Day, 9:30am EST - 12:00pm EST & 1:00pm EST - 3:30pm EST
WHAT: Five Full Days of highly interactive practice & feedback. Minimal new information—this is mostly about embodying it!

For our first live, online 5-day intensive, we'll focus primarily on DEEPENING YOUR EMBODIMENT of the UZAZU postures & movements, attending especially to the fine sensory-motor details of the voice/mouth/vowels, the eyes/visual-focus, the hands, and the overall internal energy flow, This will be supported by direct feedback & coaching on each posture & movement pattern from Dylan & Deb as well as learning how to give each other helpful specific feedback on the posture-embodiment. This will support you in becoming significantly more comfortable & confident embodying all UZAZU’s core elements AND in helping you physically guide & facilitate others in them.

Using the 4 Core Aspects of UZAZU Facilitation as a framework, you'll get to practice guiding each other in the deeper embodiment of the postures and movements, analyzing each other's self-assessment patterns, and facilitating UZAZU's core embodied change facilitation practices & protocols. After this intensive, you’ll be able to utilize your growing embodied-intelligence facilitation skills more fully with practice clients, and you'll be prepared to start to engage with the deeper change process and emotions-focused work of Phase 2.

2

PHASE 2:

Unlocking Embodied Change

Understand & skillfully work with the deeper change processes that support embodied energetic, emotional and nervous system re-patterning that the more intermediate & advanced UZAZU mind-body integration techniques offer.

10 Two-Hour Sessions, Wednesdays: Jan. 10 - Mar. 13. Click for Details...

WHERE: Live Online Zoom Sessions, Some Videos & At Home Practice
WHEN: Wed. Jan. 10 - Wed. Mar. 13 (Pods schedule amongst themselves)
WHAT: 10 Two-Hour Wednesday Sessions, Weekly 1-Hour Pod Meetings, Light Weekly Homework, 12 (additional) required 1-1 Sessions with practice clients & completing Reflection Forms on them

Phase 2 of this Training, called "Unlocking Embodied Change," builds on the skills and knowledge you gained in Phase 1 and focuses on helping you understand and skillfully work with the deeper change processes that support embodied energetic, emotional, and nervous system re-patterning.

You'll have the opportunity to work regularly with clients, both unpaid practice clients that you recruit and (if it's a fit for you) bringing UZAZU more into your current client work. You'll also start filling in reflection forms about your sessions and reporting back to the group about your experiences as you continually deepen and broaden your UZAZU skills.

Throughout this 10-week phase, you'll gain a deeper understanding of valence, arousal, and the 4 Core Affect States, as well as the 8 Primary Emotions and 8 Core Socio-Moral Emotions. You'll also learn how to cultivate a practical UZAZU-integrated understanding of Polyvagal Theory and navigate a client's Window of Tolerance with any given state. You'll develop your skills in facilitating deeper dynamic change processes, such as UZAZU's Support-Core Mode Integrations and Unconscious Movement Integration process, and learn how to work transformationally with the 4 Core Elements of Air, Fire, Water, and Earth as both top-down and bottom-up processes.

Additionally, you'll learn how to use the 4 Main Polarity Relations of This/Not That, Either/Or, Both/And, and One Pair as a powerful framework for facilitating deeper integration and differentiation. By the end of this phase, you'll have the tools you need to facilitate profound embodied change and growth for your clients.

5-Day Live Intensive Two: Practicing Holistic, Whole-Client UZAZU Facilitation: Mar. 18-22, Mon-Fri.

WHERE: Two Live Online Zoom Sessions Each Day
WHEN: Mar. 18-22, Mon-Fri. Daily: 9:30am EST - 12:00pm EST & 1:00pm EST - 3:30pm EST
WHAT: Five Full Days of highly interactive practice & feedback. Minimal new information—this is mostly about embodying it!

For our second (online) live 5-day intensive, you’ll continue practicing facilitating deeper emotional-energetic shifts with clients, while working more consciously and skillfully with the 8 Verbal Response Modes, and your own authentic body-language & energy, to more masterfully ‘ride the shared-wave’ and ‘be in the dance together’ of each moment with your client, as your sessions co-creatively unfold.

While practicing this, you’ll also receive live facilitation-session feedback from Dylan and Deb ( in the form of ‘hot-seats’) to bring supportive attention to any aspects of your facilitation you might be able to improve on and help ensure you’re working at more of your full potential, with clients.

We will also introduce a key topic that we’ll work with more fully in Phase 3: The Developmental Journey Stages. You’ll learn and experience a way to understand and activate the embodied states of the main stages of child & adult development—through the personal stages, and into the transpersonal. You’ll also be introduced to some potent new ways to practice UZAZU for stage-activation and integration, which will serve you later in Phase 3, as we focus on holding clients in a more developmentally informed and embodied space.

3

PHASE 3:

Nurturing Embodied Development

Develop the skills to holistically support your clients over a larger arc of their growth & development, in alignment with your own professional focus & clientele. This phase will empower you to more effectively nurture your client's development while further deepening the skillfulness & potency of your 1-1 work overall.

10 Two-Hour Sessions, Wednesdays: Apr. 3 - Jun. 5. Click for Details...

WHERE: Live Online Zoom Sessions, Some Videos & At Home Practice
WHEN: Wed. Apr. 3 - Wed. Jun. 5. Each Wednesday, 1:00pm EST - 3:00pm EST (Pods schedule amongst themselves)
WHAT: 10 Two-Hour Wednesday Sessions, Weekly 1-Hour Pod Meetings, 10 (additional) required 1-1 Sessions with practice clients & completing Reflection Forms on them, Your 'Integration / Application Project’ & Presentation

In Phase 3 of the Training, called "Nurturing Embodied Development," you'll learn how to holistically support your clients over a larger arc of their growth and development, in alignment with your own professional focus and clientele. This phase will empower you to more effectively nurture your clients' development while deepening the focus and potency of your own 1-1 work with others.

You'll learn about Developmental Stages and "Layers of Being" and how to more (skill)fully engage your clients in relational facilitation and role-play, using UZAZU—which greatly helps clients to come more fully into the lived experience. You'll also learn how to give appropriate and effective client homework for further embodiment practice and real-life application, and how to support your clients over multiple sessions and months.

We'll also focus on helping you "make UZAZU your own" by integrating your new UZAZU skills with your pre-existing knowledge and skills. As part of this process, you'll research, create, and present your own Individual UZAZU Project, applying UZAZU to a specific topic or combining it with another modality or process of your choosing. Additionally, you'll learn how to conduct effective Client Intake and Discovery Sessions.

By the end of this phase, you'll have the skills and confidence to support your clients on their growth journey and integrate UZAZU into your professional practice in a way that feels authentic and aligned with your unique style and focus.

Graduation Ceremony, and becoming part of the Practitioner Community

Our Graduation Ceremony will be the final ‘official’ live group session, on Wednesday, June 5th. Upon graduation—provided or once you've fully completed all your requirements—you will be able to take part in the various ongoing Certified Practitioner Community activities.

Coursework Requirements & Time Commitments

During the 3 Online Phases: count on around 5-6 hours a week total, on average

This training will take regular, consistent time and effort on your part. We've made it that way on purpose, and we help hold you accountable to it along the way, so you don't slip behind.

We're not interested in just giving you lots of 'interesting theories & information' about embodiment here (though you will get that too...) We've designed this learning journey for both solid skill-building and deep, impactful transformation. Multiple feedback loops and modes of interaction with each other and the content help ensure no one gets left behind, and everyone graduates with a deeply embodied set of skills that will serve them for life. (This past year, we had a 100% completion rate.)

Attend the 2-hour Online Live Sessions each training week, with Dylan & Deb

Synergizing a dual-focus on personal integration and professional application, these live sessions are highly interactive & engaging. Everyone is required to attend at least 75% of these sessions LIVE.  You must catch up afterward via replay, within a few days, when you can't attend live.

Participate in Weekly 1-hour Learning Pod Practice Sessions.

These private groups of 3-5 people will self-schedule and meet weekly as per your group's best time slots, during phases 1, 3 and 5. The work you do together in these pods is a KEY aspect of what will feed and support your learning & integration, throughout the training. Everyone is required to attend at least 75% of their Pod's meetings.

Do about 30-60 minutes weekly of personal UZAZU practice & coursework

Watching videos & taking notes, reading, writing, reflecting, and personal UZAZU practice. Periodic, short formative assessments help ensure you are acquiring all the key concepts and skills, as the training progresses.

Receive/Experience 6 Private UZAZU Sessions directly yourself

A key requirement of becoming certified in this approach is to have experienced it directly yourself at a deep, personal level. And so having 6 private sessions—3 with one of the lead trainers, Dylan Newcomb or Deb Grant, and 3 with a Certified UZAZU Practitioner (who will be carefully selected for you), spread throughout your 9-months, is built into the cost of the training.

Conduct 34 UZAZU-based practice sessions with practice clients

Over the course of the 9 months of the training you're required to conduct 34 UZAZU-based sessions 45+min with practice clients. (By phase 3, these could also be your own regular paid clients as well—up to you.) For each session, you'll complete an online reflection-form that will help you maximize your learning and help us track your progress & support you. (Participants tend to find this process surprisingly helpful!)

Attend the two 5-Day Live Online Intensives

These are full days, so plan to block these days fully off from other work! Both live intensives will run Monday-Friday, each day 9:30am - 3:30pm, USA/EST, with a 1-hour lunch break. Real-time attendance to at least 75% of this live intensive is required.
