Welcome to the Feb-Apr 2025 Practice Group: A Deep Dive into Embodied Resourcing

As we begin this fourth round of the UZAZU Embodiment Practice Group, we're excited to invite you into a deep exploration of what lies at the heart of sustainable embodied transformation: the art and practice of resourcing.

Over these next three months, we'll be diving into discovering, cultivating, and reliably accessing the specific resources that most powerfully support your embodiment of each UZAZU state. Together, we’ll  work with a rich spectrum of resource types—from sensory anchors and personally evocative imagery to meaningful memories and resonant statements—discovering which combinations most effectively deepen your experience and quicken your access to each state.

This journey into resourcing aligns with UZAZU's foundational principle of "yin before yang"—the understanding that developing a robust foundation of reliable resources is essential before engaging with life's challenges. Through thoughtful, playful exploration in a supportive group context, you’ll build your own personalized library of resources, learning how specific images, sounds, movements, or remembered experiences can help you embody qualities like groundedness, fluidity, or expansive awareness precisely when you need them.

What makes this upcoming round of the UZAZU Embodiment Practice Group unique? We will focus on helping you develop an intuitive understanding of which resources work best for you in different contexts. Whether it's using nature-based visualizations to deepen your sense of organically grounded stability, working with resonant phrases that activate your inner wisdom, or discovering how specific memories can anchor you in states of fluid adaptability—you'll learn to craft and call upon resources that feel authentically aligned with your way of being.

For those already practicing UZAZU: This round offers an opportunity to significantly deepen your experience of each state by developing a richer palette of personal resources.

If you're new to UZAZU and would like to join: Dylan will be offering a one-day Basic Training on February 1st that will give you the foundation needed to join us for this transformative exploration.

We'll meet every Friday morning (Eastern Standard TIme) for 80-minute live sessions, alternating between myself and Deb, with video replays available within 24 hours. Together, we'll create a supportive container for discovering and integrating the resources that will serve as reliable anchors for your ongoing embodied growth.

With warmth, and in anticipation of much richly resourcing embodiment practice together,

Dylan and Deb

"Over the years, UZAZU has been the modality most involved in my deeper transformations. When I've identified something in my life that isn't working, an aspect of my habitual patterns, my processing, UZAZU has been the thing that has helped."

Beth Nolte

Experience the Value of a Consistent, Relational Embodiment Practice

You may already appreciate the value of a regular movement or meditation practice... By adding the benefits of UZAZU's explicitly relational approach to embodiment, and practicing it together in community, you have an opportunity to:

Cultivate a deepening embodied self-awareness and spacious self-compassion

Explore your inner landscape through a balanced spectrum of embodied states, developing a deeper understanding of your conditioned responses, needs, and desires, leading to greater self-acceptance, self-compassion, and growth.

Step into more of your own authentic truth, personal power and creative vision

Strengthen your capacity to sense and act on your truth and unique potential — with empowered self-agency, resilient self-worth, and an inspired vision for your unfolding self growth journey.

Deepen your connections and more fully enjoy your interactions with others

Practice accessing more resonant, empathetic connections while also cultivating better differentiation — enhancing your ability to relate & communicate with greater ease, clarity, confidence, and authenticity.

Gain embodied state-shifting skills, for more easeful flow in daily life situations

Practice applying the principles and balanced embodied states of UZAZU to your real-world challenges and opportunities, re-patterning yourself to respond with greater ease, responsiveness, and purpose-aligned effectiveness.

And don’t forget the power and goodness of practicing together!
(You perhaps already know this...)

There’s something uniquely potent that happens when people do UZAZU in a group to access embodied states together:
- We get further drawn in and ‘lifted up’ by the collective, shared embodiment.
- We experience connecting and being present with each other in specific, deeply embodied states together.
- And we get to hear from others about their experiences, further enriching our own own insight and understanding.

"Practicing UZAZU has changed how I energetically interact with everything around me. I have more drive and more passion! And I feel how I can be more authentic now. The most beneficial aspect of working with UZAZU, however, was how my personal relationships have shifted!"

Ben MacIsaac

What People Who've Practiced UZAZU Are Saying:

"With UZAZU, I really learned to come into the present moment and speak my truth in a way that... Yeah, I don't even really know how to say it, but just to be able to come into the present moment and speak my truth. And that's been incredibly empowering. That's been a huge change for me."

Albert Viljoen 2

"UZAZU has transformed my personal life and my coaching practice in ways that I couldn't have imagined. Using UZAZU, I can now get to the roots of any issue much more quickly and then easily work with it in an embodied way, which has also made me much more effective in my work with clients."

Dr. Albert Viljoen

"One of the things I love about UZAZU is that it's an embodied system that touches on all the different aspects of our own psychology and how we're in relationship with other people. In a way, it’s also very iterative. UZAZU can bring really deep, profound quick shifts... But a lot of it, in my experience, is that we're constantly making these little tweaks — and those little tweaks can actually add up very quickly."

Khali young

"I got a new job recently, and this new power is being evoked all the time. I don't think this would have been possible without UZAZU, to step into a different level of expectations, really sharing my expertise with some highfalutin and high power clients, and I don't know that I would have had the confidence to do that before."

Frequently Asked Questions

"I’d like to join, but haven’t yet learned the basics. What do I need to do, in order to participate in this Practice Group?"

If you're new to UZAZU Embodied Intelligence and want to join the Practice Group, learning the basics is a prerequisite to joining in the weekly classes. Fortunately, we currently offer a few options to help you learn the basics and get started:
  1. Join an upcoming Live Online Basic Training: UZAZU founder Dylan Newcomb will be offering a 6-hour live online Basic Training in the coming weeks. This training will provide you with a solid foundation in the core UZAZU framework, including the 3 Bodymind Dimensions and 9 Modes & Postures. You'll learn everything you need to know to participate fully in the Practice Group. Keep an eye on our website for details and registration information.
  2. Get the Recorded version of Online Basic Training: If you're eager to get started and don't want to wait for the next live training, we also offer a recorded online version of the Basic Training. This 5-hour course covers the same essential material as the live training, allowing you to learn at your own pace. While it doesn't include the live interaction element, it will still provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to join the Practice Group. You can purchase this recorded training separately. Click here to learn more about this introductory UZAZU training.
Once you’ve completed the live or pre-recorded version of the UZAZU basic training, and been exposed to what we call the 3 Bodymind Dimensions and the 9 Core Modes of Embodied Engagement, you’re ready and eligible to join this weekly practice group!

"I learned the basics of UZAZU earlier, but haven’t been practicing much. Will I be able to keep up?"

If you've already learned the basics of UZAZU but feel uncertain about your embodiment skills or haven't practiced in a while, don't worry – the UZAZU Practice Group is designed to support you wherever you are in your journey. Dylan and Deb are dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment that accommodates a wide range of skill levels and backgrounds.
If it’s been a while since learning or practicing UZAZU, you might feel less confident in your ability to sense and listen to your body, or may find it challenging to recall UZAZU’s various practices. You'll find the Practice Group offers a welcoming space to reconnect with the work and deepen your embodiment at your own pace.
Engaging with the practices and the community will help you develop greater confidence, skill, and attunement. The live classes offer ample opportunities to receive guidance and support from the instructors and to learn from your fellow participants. You'll also have access to foundational resources and past class recordings that you can use to refresh your understanding and practice between sessions.
Everyone's ‘embodiment journey’ is unique! Regardless of your starting point, you'll be met with compassion, encouragement, and guidance to help you grow and thrive.

"If I can't make it to one or more of the live sessions, can I still keep up?"

We recognize that life can be busy and complex, and not everyone will be able to attend every live session. To support your consistent engagement, we've designed the Practice Group with flexible participation options.
Each class is designed as a ‘stand-alone’ experience. If you can only make it to some of the classes, and/or need several weeks to catch up on 1-2 that you missed, you won’t be lost. Each live class is recorded and made available for replay within 24 hours. As long as you remain a subscribed member, you'll have ongoing access to this growing library of session recordings, allowing you to catch up or revisit material whenever needed.
Our private online community is another valuable resource, providing a space to connect with other participants, ask questions, and share experiences between live sessions. You'll also have the opportunity to coordinate with fellow members for additional practice meetups.
Ultimately, what matters most is your personal dedication to the embodiment journey. Whether you engage with the material during live sessions or on your own time, you'll find a wealth of support and resources within the UZAZU Practice Group container.

"I'm currently working with a therapist. Could practicing UZAZU be complementary or should I wait?"

In many cases, UZAZU practice can be a valuable complement to ongoing therapy, but it's important to consult with your therapist to determine the best approach for your individual needs.
While there is some overlap between the personal growth work we do in this practice group and certain aspects of coaching and therapy, it's important to understand that UZAZU is not a substitute for professional therapeutic treatment. However, UZAZU can often be integrated effectively with various trauma-focused and healing modalities.
The focus of this practice group is on learning to apply UZAZU principles for personal well-being and growth in daily life. Many participants find that this supports and enhances their progress in other areas of self-work.
If you have any doubts or concerns about whether participating in this group would be beneficial alongside your current therapeutic process, we encourage you to discuss it with your therapist. You're also welcome to reach out to us directly with any questions.

"I'm concerned about the time commitment. How much time should I plan on investing each week?"

Everyone's schedules and energy levels can vary from week to week, and it's important to find a balance that works for you. In general, we recommend setting aside around 2 hours in total per week to fully engage with the UZAZU Practice Group. This includes attending the 80-minute live class (or watching the replay) and dedicating some additional time for personal practice and reflection.
However,  one of the good things about UZAZU is that it can be easily adapted to fit your unique needs and circumstances. We encourage you to listen to your own rhythm and find a level of engagement that feels most sustainable and nourishing for you.
Fortunately, most UZAZU practices can be broken down into shorter, 5-10 minute sessions that you can integrate throughout your day. As you progress in the Practice Group, you’ll receive ongoing tips and techniques for weaving embodiment into your daily life in a way that feels organic and supportive. This might include using UZAZU to rest and recharge your energy, or to optimize or ‘prime’ your state before diving into your next activity or meeting.
Over time, you may well find that UZAZU becomes more & more implicitly present in your life, a natural part of your daily flow, without feeling like an extra burden or obligation.

"I have one or more friends who have been interested in UZAZU... How might they join this group?"

If you have friends (and/or clients) who are interested in learning UZAZU and joining the Practice Group, we recommend having them first complete the soon upcoming 5-6 hour online "Learn the Basics of UZAZU" training. (Details coming soon!) Once they've established that foundational understanding, they'll be well-prepared to seamlessly integrate into the Practice Group and start benefiting from the ongoing embodiment classes and community.

"UZAZU is like an elegant tool that allows me to gain a fuller felt sense of what feels uncomfortable AND comfortable throughout my body in a safe way. That allows me to better relate to my personal judgments and situations and become actually curious about something that would otherwise overwhelm me. The model is so digestible and effective at helping me then choose other responses to my unconscious patterns. Highly recommend."
