UZAZU Change Facilitation Embodiment 2012
Held at The Abode retreat center, in New Lebanon, New York
August 3rd to August 8th, 2012:
August 10th to August 14th, 2012:
Do you help people make a difference?
The UZAZU Practitioner Training greatly expands your ability to effectively interact and work with others. By offering you a fully mind-body integrated framework and process, this training empowers you to intuitively sense the deeper dynamics of what’s going on and move forward in the way that will bring about the most positive change.
Do you want to tap into the full power of the body-mind to make a meaningful difference in lives of others?
If you are passionate about helping others improve their lives and recognize the vital importance of engaging the whole mind AND body (both yours and theirs!) in that process, then this training is for you.
Why is a new experience of Mind-Body so important?
Challenging problems are more effectively resolved when you work with body, emotions and mind both as a framework and a practice. You will develop your practice as one integrated whole and increase your results with yourself and your clients.
Greater creativity comes with inspired and intuitive application of your most effective tools are two of the most powerful benefits of UZAZU as a meta-modality. You will learn to integrate everything in your toolbox and apply them at the right time, for the right person and right challenges.
Our intensive 10-day Practitioner Training will teach you to relate in new and effective ways in your practice and give you an integral and embodied framework from which to effect positive change.
Welcome to the UZAZU Practitioner Training

After a decade of development and work with people around the world, we are thrilled to offer you the first-ever 10-day UZAZU Practitioner Training certification program.
As our culture’s worldview moves to embrace practical and integral embodiment for results, healing, change and for an integral life, you will be among the first to utilize a modality that both creates results itself and increases the effectiveness of many other methods.
Filled with over eighty hours of fun and challenging experiential learning and one-on-one coaching practice opportunities, this intensive retreat is the perfect opportunity to completely immerse your body, mind and spirit in embodying the change you wish to facilitate with others.
Who is the Practitioner Trainer Designed for?
This program is created for coaches and teachers who already have many practices and work with multiple modalities. You help people daily and are on a path of development yourself. As an integral and holistic practitioner, you are constantly improving and upgrading your mental models and emotional spectrum.
Do you feel naturally aligned with the current paradigm shift that’s happening in our culture?
Do you too have the sense that everything is energy and that its flow through matter-body-mind-spirit is what actually determines our health, happiness, and global sustainability?
Are you looking for a practical way to bring this new, deeper knowing more fully into your personal life and professional practice?
We believe that our life’s challenges cannot be reduced to or adequately addressed by the old paradigm symptom-based labeling as behavioral problems, economic crises, chemical imbalances, physical pains, cultural clashes, psychological traumas, negative emotions, limiting beliefs or ego defense patterns— even though they often show up that way on the surface.
With UZAZU, we have found it exceedingly effective to approach ALL these so-called dis-functions as nothing more and nothing less than inefficient, inappropriate, or disruptive energy flow along the integrated spectrum of matter-body-mind-spirit.
What solution does an UZAZU Practitioner provide?
During the ten intensive days of the Practitioner Training, you will embark on an thorough journey into the energetic nature of movement, sound, sensation, words, and imagery. You will practice integrated methods in groups and one-on-one in to identify and facilitate deep change in the underlying energetic patterns of people’s thoughts/beliefs, emotions, physical symptoms/pains, behaviors, and relationships.
Developing a fully embodied awareness of and the ability to influence how energy is flowing through your thoughts, emotions, and actions inevitably affects and can be applied to any area of your life. In this Practitioner Training, the main application of this awareness and skill will be focused on working with individuals and helping them towards deeper self-awareness and further growth.
You will develop resources to facilitate powerful one-on-one UZAZU sessions, and explore the practical and creative integration of UZAZU principles and practices to pre-existing ‘tools’ and areas of expertise. As we will be learning and integrating our skills by intensively practicing on ourselves and with each other, some amount self-transformation may, inevitably, occur
Retreat Location
The training will take place at The Abode – a beautiful and secluded retreat center in the Berkshire mountains of upstate New York (about 3 hrs drive from the New York Kennedy or Boston Logan airports).
Your Faculty
All UZAZU training sessions will be led by Dylan Newcomb (the principal founder and developer of UZAZU.) and assisted by Dylan’s partner Kyung-sun Baek and several more certified UZAZU teachers.
We also recognize and are thrilled at the rich diversity of knowledge and experience that the participants themselves will be bringing with them, including several of the UZAZU Teachers that attended the Teacher Training last summer, and we will be holding constructive space for us all to learn and benefit from each other.
Included in the UZAZU Practitioner Training
When you complete the training, you will have learned how to:
- Dialogue and interact with a person to elicit the material you need to get a well-rounded sense of where they are at.
- Help a person to set healthy, realistic short and long term goals
- Make ‘educated guesses’ as to the underlying energy dynamics of what’s going on with someone, and what factors are most/first needing to be addressed.
- Helping a person to get a more profound, intuitive, felt sense of ‘what’s going on’ underneath the surface of their issues and challenges.
- Effectively monitor and modulate how you are being present and interacting with the other person to best support what you sense will help their growth.
- Engage with a person in context-appropriate UZAZU-based exercises involving movements, sounds, images, and statements to help facilitate change related to whatever is challenging them.
- Adapt your material and even invent new exercises on the fly to best fit the needs of the other. Let the moment and your intuition guide you above all else.
- Use the UZAZU framework to make informed recommendations as to which other types of practices or practitioners might provide helpful additional support for the energy dynamic(s) you have determined are relevant for someone to work on.

It severs as a wonderful way to unwind, to bond more deeply as a group, and to get to know more about ourselves and how we relate to ourselves and others. Over the weekend, we will integrate our experiences from the EvolutionDance back into our work together.
The Certification Process
Upon completion of this 10-day UZAZU Practitioner Training, if you choose to continue on and become Certified UZAZU Practitioner, you’ll enter directly into a six month practicum period.
The Practitioner Certification practicum process is fully overseen and evaluated by Dylan Newcomb, and consists of bi-weekly 90-minute group calls, a minimum of 15 documented, self-evaluated client sessions (including a client feedback form) using primarily UZAZU as the guiding and operative modality, and a video of one of these sessions sent to Dylan for final evaluation. Practitioners are prohibited from charging for these sessions until they have completed certification. (Freely given donations are acceptable.) Exact details regarding the certification process will be made available in early spring.
Being a Certified UZAZU Practitioner guarantees that you have are recognized as having a thorough and competent understanding of UZAZU for the evaluation and application of energy dynamics using sound, movement, word and images. It also guarantees listing and contact info on the UZAZU website as a Certified UZAZU Practitioner. Please note that UZAZU, due to a mix of it’s new, unique and ‘just breaking onto the scene status’, is not yet an accredited or otherwise offically recognized and evaluated modality. We therefore encourage and expect you to use your own best judgement as to how competent you know and trust yourself to be in applying your UZAZU Practioner skills to various personal development contexts. Please see the Certified Practitioner Agreement for more details on ‘scope of practice’ and formal agreement issues.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are there any scholarships offered?
Yes, there are a limited number of scholarships available. We are very willing to talk with you about any financial challenges you may have and brainstorm together about how you could make it possible for yourself to attend.
Do I have to stay at the residential facility? Can I commute to the campus every day?
We have booked and are holding space for participants in this workshop to stay at The Abode of the Message. This facilitates ease and group cohesiveness while enhancing the energy that we will be building and being nourished by for our intensive ten days together. There are three different kinds of housing options available to suit varying needs, desires and budgets.
Does this training certify me to lead EvolutionDance-based events and processes?
While we will do the EvolutionDance together as a group and gain valuable experience and understanding from it, we will feed that back into our work with the core physical, emotional and mental patterns of UZAZU as they play out in a person’s daily inner and outer life. An EvolutionDance certification training is a distinct possibility for the future.
Are Dylan and Kyung-sun planning on offering more Practitioner Trainings in the future?
The next UZAZU Practitioner Training after this one will be in the summer of 2012. The location is not yet decided. For sure, it will be in North America.
